An eminent hadeeth on the merits of the Hajj rituals:
According to Ibn 'Umar, may Allah be pleased with him and his father, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said:
"As for the reward you will have: when you go out to the Holy House, every time your steed will advance a step, Allah, exalted be He, will write you a good deed and will erase a sin . When you settle in 'Arafat, Allah, exalted be He, will descend that day to the lowest Heaven and praise the merits of the pilgrims to the angels by saying to them:' Behold My servants, they have come to Me disheveled , By mountains and by valleys, desiring My mercy and fearing My punishment without seeing Me. What would happen if they saw Me? Surely, if you had as many sins as the grains of sand, the days of the present life or raindrops, Allah would forgive them. When thou hast stoned, the reward of this work shall be spared unto thy Lord. When you shave your head, you will have for each hair the reward of a good action. When you make tawaf al-Ifada, then you will be immaculate with all your sins, such as the day your mother bore you. "[At-Tabarânî (Al-Albânî: hasan)].
